If I weren’t the one and only me?
Audrey Baronet
If I weren’t the one and only me?
How boring would life be.
If I weren’t the one and only me?
Being a golden child,
No problems, just a mild,
Little life with a perfect family,
Now that, that would be a tragedy.
Good girl,
Good boy,
Good grades,
Good golly!
How BORING would life be,
If I weren’t me,
If I didn’t fall and scar my knee,
If I didn’t wake up late and say,
“Oh dear, forgive me”,
Perfection is all well and neat,
But to me it doesn’t sound a treat.
Good girl,
Good boy,
Good grades,
Good golly!
So scream across the rooftops,
Shout out to the hills,
Make sure the moon and stars can hear you,
And the sun that grills you,
Make the grass sway with sound,
Make sure shivers go through the ground,
Make the planets go bouncing around,
Make the whole universe hear the sound,
“I’m different!”
“I’m weird”
“I’m special”
“And I’m PROUD”
Because how boring would life be,
If I weren’t the one and only me.
