3rd of April
We are visiting the school. Each team – Latvia, Czech Republic, Spain, Italy, Portuguese and Turkey have
produced poems from the stocks of their country’s greatest poets. Everyone of us – Anete, Inese, Zane and
Ieva read.
Right after the presentation there’s a
coffee brake and sparetime in the
school yard. Us and the other
countries are amazed by the beautiful
sight of the seaside view from the
school’s garden. After that we are
leaving school for a full day trip to
Sumela.
Road takes about 40 minutes and
we arrive to Sumela. The weather is beautiful, sunny and warm.
Sumela is a Greek Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panagia, meaning "The all-
holy one" in Greek, a title often used for the Virgin Mary) at Melá Mountain. Sumela’s Monastery
is one of the most beautiful places we have visited. The view is teriffic and amazing. We take
photos of the beautiful waterfall near the restaurant. All students and teachers have lunch at
‘’Restaurant at the Bottom’’. We try some traditional Turkish meals- lentil soup, lavash and our
favourite meal, Turkish kebab. After delicious meal at the restaurant we have a free time. We are
shopping for some souvenires at the local souvenir shop. After shopping we are leaving Sumela.
We arrive to the Hotel. We have free time to visit Trabzon city center and go for a shopping to buy some
traditional food.
4th of April
Morning begins
with a musical
show. All guests
have prepared
performances.
Each country is
overwhelmed by
its uniqueness and diversity. The musicians are on a wide variety of
topics, both love and power, and martial arts. The pupils had
thought of both musical and visual views in their performances.
According to the guests, as a great surprise was a very energetic
performance of Turkish folk dance. In gorgeous costumes, with
great enthusiasm, the Turks drag us into their dance world, inviting
them to try their talent in their dance steps.
A big surprise to this day is the local television, and it is a great
pleasure to see the TV experience on the project the next day.
