Monday, 26th of November
All participants of the project arrive at Rīga Secondary
School No. 31. Pupils from the school gives all the
participan
ts a nice
and warm
welcome
concert.
The
guests are
welcomed
by both
the school
choir, the school orchestra and the school theater. The
school theater shows a performance based on Raini’s "Fire
and Night" motifs. In a small presentation, guests recieve
information about how Latvia celebrated its 100th
anniversary. After lunch we went to see the seaside.
Despite of struggling with the big wind, the guests
took photographs, after than guests warmed up in a
nice and cozy cafe near the seaside.
A cultural palace "Ziemeļblāzma" is also being visited,
where girls from Rīga Secondary School No. 31
introduce guests about the history of Vecmilgravis
and the rooms of the "Ziemeļblāzma". At the end of
the day, we visit the dance group "Bitīte". Dance
group "Bitīte" taught Latvian dance steps, showed the
most beautiful Latvian dances. After that together
we danced Latvian dances, Turkish dances and Italian
dances.
Tuesday, 27th of November
All night long it was snowing. Morning began with a
snowball fights and taking photos of the
snow. Some of the project participants have never
seen snow. For one and a half hour in a long
excursion, we all walk all around the Old Town of
Riga. Then we go across the Daugava River to the
National
Library. The National Library impresses with its spacious rooms, with book hills. In the afternoon
we walk to the National Museum of Art. Each group is looking for their most beautiful and
interesting paintings. New strong impressions has been made.
