Wintertime Romance
I saw the pale dream of dawn
Cast over a frozen winter field.
Slender arms–shafts of frigid sun–,
Rays forged in eyes of lucid blue;
How shining glance did ravish me:
Hid in darkening gleam–brown milk of
Your hair’s soft-shadowed symphony–
Shading your gaze–an azure serenity.
From rosy lips spring winds blow,
Trumpeting your majesty.
Then sun in heaven’s height I saw,
Arising in veiled light–basking
My snowy winter ache–melting–
Till loneliness was mine no more.
