Boost for School ’ s Athletic Development Programme

The Athletic Development Programme at Pocklington School has been boosted by the addition of new equipment and technology which will significantly enhance the current programme undertaken by over 85 students at the School .
The new items were purchased for the Strength and Conditioning Programme following a kind donation from a supporter of the School .
They will improve our data monitoring – the collection and analysis of objective data to monitor performance and progress , injuries and alert us to injury risk . The new resources will also boost our rehabilitation resources and facilitate coaching and training improvements .
Jonathon Wheeler , Head of Athletic Coaching and Development , said : “ This new equipment puts us at the forefront of athletic development provision for students , providing facilities normally reserved for professional sportsmen and women . The kit is already in use and we have received great feedback from students on the difference it ’ s making to their development .”

Pocklington School Foundation launches new Careers and Business Network

Pocklington School Foundation has launched a new Careers and Business Network to help support current and former pupils as well the wider school community .
The Network is open to parents past and present , staff and supporters , and Old Pocklingtonians ( OPs ), with the aim of sharing advice and expertise to help each other thrive in a highly competitive world . It has been developed in conjunction with the Old Pocklingtonian Association , which offers careers and mentoring support to former pupils .
OP Martin St Quinton ( 65-75 ), now a renowned businessman and Owner and Chairman of Gloucester Rugby Club , returned to the School for the launch and shared his thoughts on what has inspired him throughout his career .
Mark Ronan , Headmaster , said : “ We hope the Careers and Business Network will provide lifelong inspiration to the Pocklington School community , at every stage of their careers .”
