On behalf of the Tobago Council of the PNM, I take this opportunity to outline our manifesto for the upcoming Tobago House of Assembly elections on January 23, 2017.
I start with a proposition that the best approach to community prosperity and to achieve an enhanced quality of life involves giving to individuals, families, businesses and community groups the freedom, opportunity and encouragement to build and secure their own future.
Our overarching strategy therefore is one that is community driven and productivity focused. Just as one builds a house block by block by block, so too shall Tobago be developed community by community by community. In other words, community development will be the axis around which Tobago’ s future development will revolve.
In this regard, the fundamental theme that provides both a context for and a driver of our actions is“ Enhancing Delivery: Strengthening Partnerships”. This approach allows for us to build upon and consolidate the gains and many strides that we have made over the last sixteen years. At the same time, this provides the opportunity for deepening, broadening and initiating relationships with individuals, groups and institutions both here and abroad.
