THE POWER IN PARTNERSHIPS - ENHANCING DELIVERY AND BUILDING THROUGH PARTNERSHIPS
A PNM led THA understands that Tobago ’ s Youth are our greatest assets . We will continue to provide opportunities that enhance their development and prepare them for their role in a developing Tobago .
We will continue to place emphasis on our youth in the following areas :
• Building the capacity of youth development organisations to design , implement , manage and monitor youth development programmes and services
• Incorporating financial literacy and entrepreneurial studies into the curriculum at primary and secondary schools to promote enterprise , responsible risk taking and innovation among our youths
• Promoting greater youth participation in agriculture at the community level - where strong linkages are being created between community based economic activities and agriculture production
• Establishing a Community Youth Service Programme , which promotes volunteerism and civic responsibility .
• Provide support and assistance to youth organisation
• Supporting programmes that will promote democratic participation and harness youth input to influence decision-making .
• Providing programmes and interventions to address substance abuse problems among adolescents in the communities
• Fostering and supporting youth programmes within the communities to promote family development and the adoption of healthy lifestyles .
