On the 3rd of October, the Guild's leaders came to a very important decision. The changing of the Guild's names.
As the guild has been evolving at a rapid rate since its birth in May 2013, this is the guild's second name change. The original guild, borne to the Republic faction, was originally titled "The UnRelinquished Power".
Little over a month later, in late June, the Imperial faction Guild was formed. It was called "The Dark Imperial Court". The Republican guild seemed out of the loop, so it went through its first name change - from "The UnRelinquished Power" to what we know now as "The Galactic Republic Senate" - to reflect its Imperial counterpart.
Now, several months and many changes and improvements later, the GRS and DIC are ready to become its own entity with its own unique identity.
WOULD THE REAL GUILD
NAME PLEASE STAND UP?
From GRS and DIC to something more meaningful
"We were looking for something a little less generic, and a little more reflective of who we are as a family," Yuki said about the new name. "The Galactic Republic Senate and the Dark Imperial Court have been good to us, but it's time to move on to something a little more personal and professional."
The leaders had contemplated changing the Guild's name for quite some time, until in a one-on-one with Yuki and the Guild's Master, Khryztofa came up with something a little left field - Parallaxium. A bit of research and brainstorming later, and Yuki knew they had found the perfect Guild name.
"I had no idea what Khryz was on about when he said it, I just thought it sounded awesome," said Yuki.

What's in a name: The look of the new Guild name on nameplates.
Parallaxium is the Latin take on the word Parallax - the scientific term for the law of perspective. Put simply, it means when you look at an object from different angles, the object in question appears different. The same concept applies to the Guild - you don't know the Guild until you've seen it from the inside. Many of the Guild's members agree.
It was made possible for both Guilds in game to use the new name by using symbolic i's ( ì and í ). These symbols have become a prominent feature on the Guild's new logo, where, similarly to the P's, the accents face both ways, one red and one blue, to represent both sides.
"Everything else we've done, like the coat of arms and such, still fit in with the guild regardless of the name change," Yuki noted. "The ranks have changed, but otherwise we're still the same old guild."
