The Galactic Gazette

Guild Coat of Arms

A gold shield represents the defence of the weak. Upon the shield is a variation of the symbol of the Galactic Senate. It is coloured blue and red to indicate Coruscant’s Senate Tower (blue) and Korriban’s Dark Council (red.) The green and brown below indicate a planet’s surface – we work on any planet, over any terrain, on the surface or in the atmosphere to ensure safety, protection and assistance for all.

The SWTOR logo in the centre not only represents the game and the entirety of Star Wars, but also the combination of the Republic and Imperial factions – our Guild is made up of members on both sides of the war, but we remain one body, one spirit. The red and blue points on the side of the logo, combined with the logo itself, create the basic shape of the symbol that is representative of the Old Republic era in Star Wars lore (The era of Revan and the Great Galactic War).

The central part of the Galactic Senate logo containing the SWTOR symbol forms a single eye. This eye represents many things, but mostly the vision of the Force, and seeing things from all sides of the war (both Imperial and Republic, as well as by those who are not Force-sensitive). It represents unity of sight, mind and direction. The eye is also understanding, watching and guidance.

The two lightsabers represent both the chaos of fighting, and the defence of peace. The fact that the logo, the eye and the red and blue coloured symbols are in front of the lightsabers and other symbols is representative of the fact that we use the Force to guide us before anything else, and we seek balance and peace before fighting. The Senate Tower and chairs of the Dark Council are last, because after everything else, we will always have order, and we have justice, no matter what.

The Mask of Revan is used as the helm, because Revan himself is representative of walking the balance between both the light and dark sides of the Force. He represents the tough decisions made in favour of what is right, regardless of morality, light or dark, or what society would have wanted. The angelic wings are symbolic of guidance, divine assistance, winged messengers and serenity.

The crest, coloured blue and red and entangled behind the shield, represents the two factions fighting in amongst each other to support those who need it. Other than representing the factions, the colour red represents the warrior and strength; the colour blue is symbolic of truth and loyalty. The green is representative of hope and joy, and the brown is ambition. The shield is gold, representing both generosity and class, as we are a high order of professionals dedicated to helping those in need.

Many of you may have seen this logo floating around various parts of the website and on our new social media pages (Twitter and Facebook). Some of you may be wondering:

"What is this? What does it mean or represent?"

This is the Guild Coat of Arms, designed by Yuki Matsuda.

Riddled with symbolism, this is the Guild's new logo. The words in Aurebesh say:

Family Tenacity
