Extracting high value from the low value pool – Three examples of effective PPM toos developed in SharePoint Foundation Chris Lawler Manager, Project Portfolio Office Mater Health Services
Mater Health Services is a large not-for-profit health care provider that has strengthened its capacity to conduct effective projects by developing tools that enable Project and Portfolio control, monitoring, and professional practice. Common with many low margin organisations, Mater is not in a position to invest in high end information systems, so instead we turned to something Microsoft provides freely – SharePoint Foundation. This industry case study will provide 3 diverse examples of the ways that we are employing SharePoint to support our practice – Lessons Learned Knowledgebase, Corporate Project Register for Executive reporting and a self-managed Training Session Booking System. This presentation will be a pragmatic demonstration of how each of these tools were designed and utilised as well as the benefits they bring to our project community. This session is presented for the consumption of all and promises not to be a technical manual on all things geeky.
