Too often, Earned Value Management holds the stigma of being overly complex and burdensome to implement in a useful way. This perception can hinder organizations’ adoption of EVM, and they miss the opportunity to more effectively measure, forecast, and ultimately improve project performance. This session discusses best practices in implementing a simple yet robust earned value management solution for organizations that can benefit from progress measurement and the ability to forecast cost performance, but don't need to comply with various EVM standards which can add significant complexity and overhead. Using customer case studies, we'll discuss topics including the integration of required data, creating a fit with organization culture and processes, developing key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, application of rules of credit, updating of percent complete, and automated EV reporting.
