hailand has long been generally acknowledged
as a point of interest in being a country that is
advancing steadily towards being a leading hub
of medical services and healthcare in Asia.
Healthcare and medical services is a vital aspect of the
government’s Thailand 4.0 national roadmap in terms
of requiring ongoing development and investments,
making the sector entrusted as one of the most import-
ant national strategies from 2016 – 2025. In fact, the
Ministry of Public Health has announced the “Thailand:
Healthcare and Medical Center” project.

While the government has laid down key policy directions
and strategies that will support and enhance Thailand’s
path to become a leading regional healthcare and
medical hub, other moves concurrently being carried
out to lay the foundation so all related and relevant
businesses will solidly buttress the growth of healthcare
services. The public sector has been preparing all areas
in readiness to drive and strengthen the sector’s growth
in a bid to make “Thailand: The Medical Hub of Asia”.
The government’s role is to build the foundation so that
all the major elements for healthcare and medical
services are in the appropriate locations and are of such
high standards that the country will garner international
acclaim and be internationally accredited for its high
quality facilities and services. These elements are pre-
pared to welcome international specialists and experts
from different fields to work together in this country.
As a publisher of trade publications Asia Food Beverage
Thailand, Asia Pacific Metalworking, and Asia Pacific
Plant Management for more than 20 years, IPRI Co., Ltd.,
has seen the importance and rapid growth of the health-
care and medical services industry. To support manu-
facturers of medical equipment and pharmaceuticals as
well as Thailand’s healthcare services, we decided to
launch a new publication: Asia PharMed & Healthcare
Thailand, that brings together the latest news and infor-
mation of cutting edge technology, manufacturing
processes, various developments in research and de-
velopment, changes in government rules and regula-
tions, and news from medical associations and relevant
domestic and international public health agencies. This
information will be presented both in the form of print
publications and online. We will also organize indus-
try-specific activities to serve as an important platform
for all industry players including technology manufactur-
ers, service providers, academics, doctors, nurses, re-
searchers, innovators, state agencies, related organiza-
tions, manufacturing associations, importers, exporters,
and all relevant parties.
The publication in your hands is a sample of our inau-
gural issue that will be launched in 2020. As Managing
Editor of this publication, I warmly welcome all essays

will be of interest and relevance to our readers and the

Therefore, the vision is not only about making Thailand a
medical and healthcare center in ASEAN, but to make
the country a leader in Asia and even extending its po-
tential to vie for leadership in other regions. The
combined forces of strong government support and in-
centives from the Board of Investments provide many
positive elements that will make Thailand a suitable loca-
tion with ample resources to welcome global investments
in various healthcare and medical services sectors.
