The Swiss Project Management Journal
The Creative Project
What would you say is the current state
of the project and what is coming up new
during 2016 that you would like to highlight?
In agreement with the artists, we have
already released more than 600 concerts
using physical and non-physical media.
Searching and indexing capability has
been implemented for all these media
files in production.
The project is scheduled for completion
by the end of 2016.
In order to celebrate the completion of
this digitization, we are also launching the
Montreux Jazz Café @ EPFL, during the
fall of 2016. Anyone can visit the café to
enjoy the timeless precious music and
videos . The café will also be a wonderful
platform to showcase all the technologies that are applied to the archive.
Keep watching our website for further
information.
What would you give as advice to a
future project manager who might embark on a similar journey?
Imagine the future and design the
technology systems based on the
future and not based on the past.
Believe in the end-goal and be persistent!
It is not about quantity but mainly
about the quality of the products
produced or delivered.
Completely think through the digitization process and how to identify and
measure the benefits of the project.
Have a clear project plan and schedule.
It is best to execute such a massive pro-
ject with the support of universities, for
example, in the setting of a research
center such as the EPFL Innovation Park
,which is the center of innovation and
has unrestricted access to technology
and to the best brains.
