When PLUS Model Magazine decided to feature its first ‘no-edit’ issue, it took us months
of research and conversation. The reason why it took us some time was because although
many people say they want to see more un-edited photos, sometimes those
very same people are less than enthusiastic when the features are revealed.
What made things final for us was when we started to reach out looking for those stories
we wanted to tell in our Love Your Body Issue. This year we wanted to walk away from
the nude imagery and focus on women who are true role models. We are living in an age
when anyone can pretend to be someone they really aren’t. There’s many people
calling themselves or being called “role models”.
This month, I wanted to present women who are deserving of this title because of the life
they lead and the way they have faced their challenges. Rosaliz Jimenez, Photo Director
at People Style Watch shares her story after battling cancer and loosing several organs in
the process. Beck Delude is a fashion blogger who lives with confidence and joy despite
always being the tallest in the room. In middle school, sh e was already 6 feet tall
and plus size... the support she received still carries her to this day.
