What is the plus industry like in
your hometown?

I’m originally from Los Angeles but
for the last few years I’ve been living
in Denmark. Although it’s a small
country there are actually a lot of plus
clothing designers & brands such as
Zizzi, Carmakoma, Junarose, Zhenzi,
Adia, Ciso, Yppig, Studio, LauRie,
Cassiopeia etc. So there’s definitely
a market. With only two modeling
agencies representing plus models in
Denmark unfortunately the brands tend
to look to the UK or the USA for famous
plus models, so that is a bit unfortunate
for the local models. Danish culture is
slowly but surely adjusting to the curvy/
plus movement as Scandinavian women
begin to demand to be seen by the
fashion world.

Copenhagen Fashion Week was one of
the first to include plus labels like Ziizzi
& Carmakoma in the last few fashion
weeks, which is a huge step!
