healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to mean you’re thin. It just means that you are eating
well and staying active. I go to the gym 5-7 days a week but I’m still a big guy and
probably always will be. It’s just who I am.
Maddy: Let’s talk about fashion. As a plus size man, do you feel there is enough
options for you? What are some of your favorite brands/designers and how would
you describe your personal style?
Benjamin: Oh man, fashion! Hmmm… I am a very fashionable guy but the problem
is, there are not many options for me. As a bigger guy that works out, I can’t just
go into any store in the mall and find clothes that fit. I find that if it fits my chest
and shoulders, it’s way too big around my stomach. And if it fits my stomach, I can’t
button it up or move my arms.
A few brands that I have found that I love and actually fit are: Adidas, Supras and Dr.
Martens (for shoes). Sean John has a great big and tall selection for pants and shirts.
I absolutely love Robert Graham but that’s a little bit out of my price range.
As far as my personal style goes, I love button up shirts and jeans. That oufit is very
stylish and functional where you can go anywhere in it and just add a bow tie or
blazer and really class it up.
