Christina Mendez has conquered her childhood dream of becoming a successful model for almost a decade. Christina’s God given curves have dazzled for fashion brands such as Sofia Vergara for Kmart, Ann Nahari, Lane Bryant, Qristyl Fraizer Designs, PZI Jeans, House of Dereon, Ashley Stewart, Madrag/10 Spot, Rocawear, and many more. Continuing to break down barriers in the fashion world, Christina recently participated in 2 high-profile fashion events, Fall/Winter 2013 and Spring/Summer 2014 New York Fashion Week. Christina received the diagnosis of her son having autism when he was just 2 years old, and since that time, she made it her duty as a mother to research the latest up-todate information, and has lent her support and voice to a charity that hits close to home- Autism Speaks. With the power of her fan base and supporters, Christina has used her “celebrity” to spread the word of autism awareness, especially to the Latino and African American communities where diagnosis is often ignored. She has fought as an advocate and spokesperson for the New York chapter of Autism Speaks for over 10 years now. What’s next for Christina? Besides continuing to live out her dream in the fashion world and advocating for all those affected by autism, she is now a fashion contributor/blogger for Latin TRENDS magazine and is working very hard to share her knowledge and experience in the industry on her personal blog happycurvyyou.blogspot.com. Look out for a few surprises in 2014! dec2013 plusmodelmag.com
