We ask plumbers to tell us what their favourite tool is and why .

The guys from Plum Plumb Plumbing in Primrose , Johannesburg have a variety of products and tools that they feel are vital to getting the job done .

Johannes Mbokazi is a fan of the “ Bobbejaan ”. He says , “ It makes things easier . You can grab anything with it .”
Sam Murewa ’ s favourite tool is the pipe wrench because , as he says , “ There is nothing you can ’ t take out with it .”
Wesley Mlauzi finds that the galley is an integral part of his daily work . “ The gulley is an important part of the plumbing system ,” he says .
Eric Magalela says he can ’ t do without a thermal imager . “ It helps you find hot water pipes in the wall , so you know where to chop .”

Kruger agrees and says , “ It makes geysers easier to put in .”
Alfred Mthembu can ’ t live without solder wire . “ This is what you need most when you are working with copper pipe ,” he says .
Bernard Mpofu and Paul Kruger both find drip trays to be incredibly useful , regardless of their size . “ It prevents ceiling damage when doing geysers ,” says Mpofu .
