JASWIC is an acceptance body created to promote the use of acceptable components in water and sanitation installations in the interest of water conservation, health, safety and the prevention of water pollution, to the mutual benefit of consumers, suppliers, water service authorities and water service providers and the promotion of efficiency in service delivery by co-operation and the exchange of information.

Currently the best onsite product compliance identification is the SABS Mark, which is placed on the product itself. This ensures that Building Control Officers, inspectors, purchasers etc have the assurance that the product complies with the National Standard.
