The question I hear most often is,“ What does IOPSA do for me?”
IOPSA has historically provided advocacy, compliancy and regulatory support. Still, many plumbers want to know what’ s in it for them. And, frankly, that’ s an excellent question.

What IOPSA offers is undergoing a bit of a change. This year we want to become the plumber’ s ultimate business growth partner, with a focus on enabling your business success. Every initiative, service and decision the organisation makes should contribute tangible value to members and potential members.
We will be using two guiding principles to achieve this: direct member impact, where there must be a clear and immediate benefit to members in their daily business operations and an 80 / 20 approach. This means that IOPSA will put its attention on 20 % of activities that generate 80 % value for members. To get this going, we will be eliminating or restructuring low impact efforts.
We will still be involved in advocacy and compliance, however, we know that your most immediate need is to grow your business and, as a result, grow your income. Plumbers are not just tradespeople, but business owners – whether they are a sole proprietor or run a large chain of plumbing outfits. The bottom line is seeing the benefit of being an IOPSA member on YOUR bottom line.
Steve Brown, Executive Director, IOPSA
Our vision for 2025 is to help the plumber access more work opportunities, direct business support and industry influence to drive success. We want to give you some business growth tools, training and support so that you can increase your profitability.
We also want to advocate for industry policies in ways that benefit our members’ businesses. We don’ t just want to be an industry body, but a partner to every plumber.
It’ s not always easy to see what membership does for the plumber, and we want to make sure that these benefits are not just visible but provide practical advantages that are both immediate and direct. Our new strategic plan has been designed specifically to bridge this gap. We want you to know, see and feel that IOPSA is working for you.
" Our vision for 2025 is to help the plumber access more work opportunities, direct business support and industry influence to drive success."
With that said, let’ s get to business. PA
