Marius du Piesanie, CEO of Maintenace Risk Solutions has been a part of the myAriston rewards programme since 2018. Marius is a strong supporter of the Ariston brand, having installed a number of their geysers over the years.
“ In a nutshell, the brand is excellent,” Marius says when asked about working with Ariston.“ We use the benefit / rewards money to incentivise our teams. We are transparent with them and they appreciate the benefit. This also encourages them to sell the brand and to entrench the brand with our teams.”
Marius entered the plumbing arena as a businessman who spotted a gap in the market. He found that there was a need for reliable plumbing services in Gauteng. His drive came from recognising both a business opportunity and a chance to deliver something essential with a focus on excellent client service.
Marius says his philosophy on plumbing can be summed up as‘ You are just as good as your last job’. He feels that this mantra keeps the pressure on to deliver excellence on every job and helps to build a strong brand. He also believes that being available for clients ties in perfectly with this philosophy.
“ The best part of my job is a satisfied client— can’ t argue with that,” says Marius.“ There’ s something universal about the reward of seeing people happy with your work.”

“ My goal is to make plumbing a recognised profession and weed out the non-compliant, unqualified operators,” he says.“ My passion is in raising the standard. We need regulation and education to assist. Or maybe a mix of both.”
Marius has managed to scale up the business’ s operations to 55 teams, which is no small feat.
What he finds challenging is insurance company listings and clients expecting the operator to provide their services at almost no cost.“ Non-compliant operators live from hand to mouth, and they provide a substandard service at a fraction of the real cost,” Marius notes.“ The struggle to sell a plumber’ s worth becomes a tough hurdle. Plus, finding qualified, capable plumbers feels like a constant battle.”
