The pressure rating of the system is always determined by the component that has the lowest pressure rating . You may have a 600kPa HWC but a solar system that is 300kPa , and maybe something else that is 200kPa rated . The system pressure will then be determined by the 200kPa limitation .
SANS now goes even further and tells us that the hot and cold-water pressure should be balanced at all mixing points .
4.3.3 Hot and cold-water delivery pressure The various components of the system shall be so installed ( see figure above ) that the hot and cold-water delivery pressure to water mixing components is balanced .
This will mean that the valve should be installed in such a position that the total water supply for the installation passes through it . Depending on the nature of the installation you may be wise to do
separate feeds to sections that are far from the original supply point . Remember that the separate supply will need to follow the same installation criteria as the one already discussed .
