be affected. Where necessary DWH-MANCOSA has and
will continue to work with the likes of the PIRB and IOPSA
to ensure the standard of installations improve,”
says Davis.
“A third area of importance to us as local manufacturers of
solar water heating systems, is that we have a local materials
designation of 70% (geyser and solar collector individually)
under the Preferential Procurement Policy Framework Act
(PPPFA). But little of this requirement has filtered down to our
members in terms of installations. As a cluster that represents
local manufacturers, we will continue to promote the use of
local products and continue to petition regional government
agencies to comply with the national regulations. It is our
strong belief that especially during these trying times of global
instability we need to support local manufacturers and local
companies. Locally manufactured products create local jobs.

Plumbers Organisation
Rwanda Plumbers Organisation (RPO) was launched at the end of 2018.
Rwanda Plumbers Organisation (RPO) has
existed since the end of 2018 year, helping in the
development of the plumbing industry across the
country. Its role is to assist in the development of
the plumbing industry across the country through
organising plumbing seminars, establishing
international relations, promoting plumbing industry
through quality training to plumbers and trainers.
RPO is a non-profit organisation for the benefit of both
plumbers and consumers. It is a member of World Plumbing
Council. It had organised a plumbing seminar planned for
8-10 June 2020 with a trainer from the US as lead speaker.
Like so many other seminars and conferences, it had to be
cancelled due to Covid-19 global crisis and lockdowns. RPO
has also implemented a hand washing station project and is
anticipating its extension shortly. PA
