FITTING THOUGHT
1
Have you booked your holiday?
The headline is correct — time flies. We say it every year,
but it’s true. The December holiday is a few weeks away.
What a frightening thought — this is the
time of year when we look at budgets,
goals, and projects and realise that we
are facing a bottleneck of deadlines from
now until the annual shutdown. Apart from
business, we are rushing around to see if
our favourite camping spot or hotel still has
room for us, followed by booking flights and
looking forward to a well-deserved break.
With this comes another message, which we
might have forgotten: Time is precious. Have
you made time this year to keep a balance
between work, family, and relaxation, or has it
all been about chasing the deadlines, meeting
customer requirements, and fighting the traffic
to be on time? Take a minute and think about
what you are going to regret not doing. Then
learn a lesson from it and take it with you when
you plan your diary/budgets for 2019.
Time that was definitely not wasted was the
time spent at PLUMBDRAIN Africa 2018,
which took place at Nasrec in August. Proudly

of Plumbing Africa, the show was co-located
with Interbuild. Visitors and exhibitors alike
were pleased with the outcome. Read more
about this in our review on page 60.
Breaking news — and remember, you heard
it from Plumbing Africa first — is a labelling
scheme between IOPSA/PIRB and members of
the industry, which is being piloted as a separate
objective and independent body to get products
approved. Read about this on page 5.
In this edition of Plumbing Africa, we also look
at interesting projects for wine farms — read
about this on page 58.
