16 BUSINESS AND TRAINING
Freedman : Finally , what are your big predictions for technology in plumbing businesses over the next few years ? Keil : Let me look into my crystal ball ! My guess that plumbers will get rid of paper first – so that ’ s job cards , quotes , purchase orders and invoices . That alone would be massive in making the industry more efficient and effective . Helping plumbers with bill of Charles Freedman . materials is a big one – so that when they need to replace a geyser , they can see with a click of a button all the things they need so they can price profitably . Then there ’ s how we buy things – imagine being able to compare the bill of materials needed across suppliers and buy things in a click . The tech to do it exists today – we just need players like ServCraft forcing the agenda and the industry to lean into the change . Running a plumbing business in South Africa isn ’ t going to be boring ! PA
