6 . IOPSA STRATEGY MOVING FORWARD IOPSA ’ s strategy for the next 5 years will be as set out in Strategy 2025 . For 2022 the focus will be on getting face-to-face with the plumbers again . For the past 2 years we have been forced to interact remotely due to the COVID restrictions . This has led to a bit of a disconnect . We will be making a concerted effort to attend as many functions , events , and meetings as possible in order to reconnect with the members .
Training is a key function and in my opinion IOPSA ’ s future lies in our ability to provide real meaningful training opportunities to the industry . The department has been strengthened and we will be pursuing opportunities in this space much more aggressively .
We will be keeping a close eye on developments around SANS 10254 , we expect a drop in audits and will take the necessary steps if / when needed .
7 . Conclusion IOPSA is in a sound position both financially and strategically . We are hopeful that the economy will slowly start recovering and that the plumbers ’ circumstances will begin improving . There is a strong , dedicated and hardworking team in place , whose biggest drivers are improving the industry and adding value to members . In short , IOPSA is in a strong position to face the challenges of 2022 . PA
