Safety when working with Gas
• Remember to keep the tank / bottle / cannister upright when not in use
• Keep out of direct sunlight or high temperatures
• Do not drop can
• Can cause burn like injuries
• Avoid leakages
• Can reach temperatures of up to 1 900 ° C
• The propane and butane mix can be used for soft soldering , brazing or heating applications
• Wear suitable protective gear
• Only ignite in a safe place with ventilation .
Threading machines ( electric and / or manual )
• For galvanised pipe use a soft steel blade
• For Stainless steel use a hard steel blade
• Read manufacturer ’ s instructions – it is there for good reason
• Wear safety glasses and suitable protective gear .
• No loose clothing , gloves , neckties or jewellery . Use a hairnet for long hair and non-slip footwear .
• Only trained / qualified personnel must operate machines
• Ensure working area is safe
• If working outdoors , ensure safe surroundings with no unqualified people around , especially children .
• Before using machinery or connecting to hand tools , check blades for damage such as teeth missing , rust , etc .
