Murray Crow joined Electrolux as CEO on 15 February , following the retirement of Ryan Rolfe .
Murray joins Electrolux with significant leadership experience beginning with seven years in the fast-moving Consumer Goods industry , including working for Companies such as Cadbury , Colman Foods , and CPC Tongaat Foods . Thereafter he entered the general merchandise industry working for Whirlpool in several leadership roles and eventually the MD role . During this time , he was the Commercial Liaison with the large local production facility . Whilst at Whirlpool he completed his MBA through Henley UK .
In 2008 Murray was approached by Amalgamated Appliances and joined them as MD . Murray and the team were instrumental in the turnaround of the Company which was subsequently purchased by the Bidvest Group . At this point the name of the Company was changed to ’ Home of Living Brands ’. Throughout his professional career , Murray has developed substantial leadership experience with significant brands in South Africa and in the region .
With his new appointment , Murray states that overall , he has found the business to be in good shape , but there is always room for improvement . While it is still early days for him and perhaps premature to discuss the strategic direction he foresees for Electrolux , he is a believer in an all - inclusive , ‘ one company ’ philosophy with three basic areas of operation . Simply , a home for every product with support of the parent company behind them all the way . A great believer in sustainability and renewability , Murray appreciates that Electrolux has a range of products and systems highly suited to achieving these goals for the benefit of the consumer and country .
