This is an extract example of an independent test done and the results reinforcing the need for a plumber to gain additional knowledge and training in the science of pipe re-lining . We emphasise extracts to show how without applicable additional knowledge a job can end very badly for the plumber .
“ The manual provided with the service is very clear on the basic installation criteria , such as Required working pressure , required operating temperatures , Required Anchor tooth profile and the required moisture levels . In all cases this installation has failed and there is most likely no traceable documentation to validate this installation .
For the sake of clarity pointed out in the next pages the individual observations made from the photos you provided .
It Is evident that the contractor has left the pipe in a worse condition than it was before the relining and typical of the results one could expect to see if protocols are not followed . The pipes are now at a lower performance value and will need to be replaced , and in the case of the property being sold , this would need to be declared if not replaced . Once can anticipate a lot of flaking and issues until these lines are replaced as Hydro mechanical values are at play .
Required working pressures : There are three effects one can see in the image ( place image here ) that indicated under pressure or low CFM readings on the system exhaust .

C . of the pipe , indicating that the epoxy has sagged during the coating and curing processes . The lack of uneven wall thickness results in higher shrinkage of the materials during the cooling phase , which is evident in the de-lamination seen in the previous images . This delimitation is further accelerated by the lack of surface preparation . B - Indicates the presence of waves caused by Lower pressure installation . The surface should be smooth and glossy and offer the lowest resistance or Friction . The presence of these waves will have a disruption on the flow dynamics of the pipe systems , with good chances of a slight water hammer type effect causing pressure or mechanical loads on other parts of the system . C - De-lamination is evident in these regions supporting the Low pressure + excessive material argument for shrinkage . There is no viable option to re line these pipes and they will continue to Give issues and should be replaced as the relining process has caused damage to the pipe performance Required Anchor tooth profile & Required moisture levels
As a crucial part of the polymers ability to bond to the host pipe , there is a process for drying and cleaning the line . Not only has the inner surface of this pipe , not received any form of Grit in the process and the pipes were not dry when they were relined . Again , there is probably no Log or quality control documentation to support this installation . Visual evidence as per the below photo shows a Smooth and Black / Grey Surface , essentially meaning no surface prep and possibly high moisture on the line .
There is also possibly indication that the pipes were wet cleaned , as opposed to the process requiring the system to be dry before applying the shot .
A . Clearly Indicates an uneven wall thickness in the coating . Pressure allows the epoxy to accumulate on the bottom
In this case the surface has almost been water sanded with shot and has provided a smooth , non-bondable surface supporting the de-lamination process . These pipes will continue to delaminate as material fatigue sets in , water will eventually enter behind the skin of polymer and host pipe . PA
