themselves the sheer scale of its three factories and jaw-

Rossi hosted the first visit to Caleffi’s brassware Pressco
factory in Invorio – one of three major manufacturing plant
in the region – all of which are almost entirely automated
and with quality control processes integrated into that
automation.
All the Caleffi facilities are meant to reflect the founder’s
innovative spirit both in its output and its production
methods, which follow the ideals of Industry 4.0. For
instance, the Pressco plant was purchased with stamping
lines already in place, but Caleffi upgraded the presses by
fitting them with robotic arms that can load and unload
parts, and connecting them to the full Industry 4.0 reporting
system of the factory.
In fact, few areas of the facilities aren’t touched by some
form of automation. All machines on the floor are connected
to the main office, so at any time management can see
production numbers on the floor. Also, all customer product
information arrives in a 3-D format from the client, which is
then fed to the production floor. Quality control is built into
the automation at each machine, as well as regular testing.

Pressco had been a supplier to Caleffi until 1980 when
it was fully acquired to give Caleffi full control over the
stamping of its brassware, and quality of its entire value
The trio of Chandler, Reynolds and Gordon inspected one of
the Presso ‘rejects’ under a microscope and it took several
minutes to identify any fault.
