Plumblink gives
generous donation
The Plumblink Gauteng VIP day gets bigger every year
and as a result, so do the cheques the company is able to
hand over to the Jakaranda Children’s Home.

abuse. Once there, the home hopes to provide the
children with clothing, housing, schooling, food, security,
and stability, as well as the necessary therapy, life skills,
and emotional support they need to become responsible
adults and curb the cycle of abuse.
“We didn’t quite manage to double the previous total,
but the goal for this year will certainly be to double this
one,” said Vermaak, who explained that Plumblink’s
hope is to have the VIP day make a positive impact
throughout the community.
It is a worthy charity and this year’s cheque handover
saw a number of Plumblink employees also promise to
ride the 94.7 Cycle Challenge in support of the home
later this year.
The Jakaranda Children’s Home is a non-profit
organisation and a refuge for 250 abandoned and
abused children in East Lynne, Pretoria. The children

charity to benefit from the VIP day. The company also
received a letter of thanks from the Bedfordview Lion’s
Club, who said that being involved in the VIP day had
been greatly beneficial to them.
“It was a busy day, yet we had great fun and we are
extremely grateful for the sponsors you were able to
motivate in assisting our fundraising and thus allowing
us to expose our club to your customers and visitors,”
said president of the Bedfordview Lion’s Club, Hilton
Abrahamse.
The Lion’s Club is a charity organisation dedicated to
assisting those in need in their community with packages
for cancer patients, toy donations for sick children, eye
testing and spectacles distribution to the needy, and the
creation of clothing packages and blankets to the SPCA,
among numerous other causes.
