“ The decision was taken to retain the ROFO brand, due to their quality being synonymous with the stainless steel and grease trap market in South African. The ACO brand stands for professional drainage and wastewater treatment systems. The range includes drainage channels and floor drains, oil and grease separators, manhole covers, roof drainage systems, and stainless steel pipes,” says Cassol.
The ACO Group was founded in 1946 in Rendsburg, Büdelsdorf( Germany), and is still a family business. Its commitment to intense research and development and its technical expertise in producing stainless steel, polymer concrete, plastic, and cast iron products place ACO as a strong global partner. ACO Systems South Africa was established in 2012 to further develop the sub-Saharan market and it continues to invest in the African market with the acquisition of ROFO, its 31st worldwide production plant. Jovo Bardak, founder and former owner of ROFO Engineering, is appointed as the operations director at ACO South Africa. He started the venture in stainless steel drainage by establishing the ROFO brand in 1987 after a period in Chicago, US, and with a great deal of passion and effort created the history of ROFO.
The merged company will continue building relationships with the engineers and the designers, and it will still offer technical support to the contractors in the food and beverage, processing, and industrial kitchen sectors, focussing on the construction and mining industries. PA
