We see it working particularly well with our Rifeng products or any other in wall waste systems . We are also pleased to advise that Leonardo Steffano has joined Sunridge . Leo will be working closely with the expanded Sunridge specification team with the title of New Business Development Manager . Leo has been in the plastic piping industry for many years in SA and has a vast understanding of the products and knowledge in the plumbing , soil , and wastewater solutions business .”
Plumbing Africa : “ And the obvious question – how does the price of Akatherm compare with existing piping alternatives ?”
Gavin : “ Rory , as a complete system Akaktherm will be very competitively priced against other HDPE approved systems .
Plumbing Africa : “ With the products coming from the Netherlands won ’ t you be facing long lead times and high freight rates ?”
Charles : “ You are quite right Rory . At Sunridge we have invested heavily in stock at our premises in Pinetown , Johannesburg , and Cape Town . As the new kids on the block we must always ensure excellent service to our clients .
Akatherm has also come to the party by ensuring stock on the floor of the fast-selling items which will allow for a quick turnaround time from order to shipment .”
Gavin : “ You are correct on the freight rate issue too Rory , but all imported products face this issue . Logistics issues are still with us but there are very positive signs that the cost of freight will be reducing soon .

Container prices and container-hire rates are falling and already shortages are diminishing . Inflation might be an issue for the future , but we have had very high rates of inflation in SA in the past and we have managed it successfully .”
