We do our best to produce content that is legally allowed and within the limits as provided by the many bodies we deal with and their limits in terms of confidentiality . By this one needs to appreciate we cannot just write what people want us to write to suit a particular agenda or narrative or unproven statements and especially when the matter is under legal review .
We do not have access to private meetings of any official body , SABS Technical Committees or Working Groups or
Government bodies and we are guided as to what we state and do our own investigation when required .
We certainly will not take what is stated on social media as fact , based on past experiences as readers of technical publications rely on factual and accurate information .
If we have failed as per the above , we encourage readers to make use of an independent body , formed under the SA Press Council , like the Ombudsman .
The reason for me publishing this arose from us publishing the Women in Plumbing pledge and a question was asked about publisher pledge for editors who are biased . A fair question about the pledge which is the Ombudsman , but the question of bias is incorrect and anyone who has the time to watch and listen to the chatter on social media and personal attacks on individuals will understand – there is nothing yet nor has there been to justify an article or two or more on a particular issue , i . e ., IPA , PIRB , SAQA and SABS which is under legal review . But when is all is in order and we can write about this – you will be the first to know ! PA
