Booster systems for
commercial buildings
To maximise the efficiency of buildings, it is important to use innovative
and energy-saving pump systems incorporating components that are
optimally combined to deliver high performance. This feature aims to
investigate the contribution to energy saving created by pumps for water
boosting systems and other speciality applications within buildings.

Many plumbing installation designers believe
that the SANS is a guideline to installing a water
reticulation and wastewater system for every
application. The truth is that SANS only outlines
minimum requirements. When creating a water
reticulation system for a home, SANS applies
perfectly, but the plumbing designer provides a lot
of personal input in the design of larger plumbing
systems. Business complexes, shopping malls

and municipal buildings cannot be built simply to
specification. The plumbing installation designer
needs to customise his drawings and plans to
facilitate the supply and removal of water for a
specific building. The plumbing system has to be
built so that it is easy for the plumber to install.
