The CDA held its annual general meeting at its offices
in Wadeville, Johannesburg recently.
By Benjamin Brits
Opening up the annual members meeting, Evert
Swanepoel, executive chairman of the Copper
Development Association Africa (CDA) welcomed
all guests, who comprised the members, auditors,
consultants, other industry associations, media, and
guest speaker Naas Botha.
Swanepoel thanked those in attendance for taking time out
of their busy schedules to be at the meeting. Members were
also thanked for their assistance in helping the association
to achieve the goals that were realised over the past year.
Taking to the podium, Levine Warries, general manager of
the CDA, also welcomed guests and invited Bob
Kempthorne, secretary of the CDA, to deliver the formalities
of the annual meeting to establish the acceptance of the
audited association financials, and to appoint an auditor
for the next financial year. The financials were accepted by
all members as a fair and reasonable representation of
the association.
