Pipe relining at Castle
of Good Hope

Cape Town’s oldest building has been given a new
lease on life thanks to groundbreaking pipe relining
technology.
Built between 1666 and 1679, the Castle of Good
Hope is the oldest surviving building in South
Africa and has been the centre of civilian, political,
and military life at the Cape for more than three

centuries. Over the past two years, the City of Cape
Town has been restoring the Castle to its former
glory through a complete and unprecedented
restoration project.
