PCD College opens its new
premises

Situated in Montana , Pretoria , the College ’ s new premises were opened last year . It is now far bigger , allowing for more training activity to be done .
The College has come a long way since it opened in 1999 , after establishing the need for a training college for plumbers . Christo Buchling , a plumber himself , together with Karen Buchling and Savva Antoniades started PCD College .
The College is accredited by Construction Seta ( CETA ,) Qualification Council for Trades and Occupations ( QCTO ), City & Guilds International and approved by the Institute of Plumbing SA ( IOPSA ).
All facilitators , assessors and moderators are accredited by EDTP , CETA , and others with specialised knowledge in the field .
Currently offering training in plumbing and electrical , the college is fully equipped with state-of-the-art training material and equipment .
From a basic Plumbing course to the advanced Plumbing course , ARPL , Trade test preparation and the trade test itself ranging from eight days to three years , the college is well prepared to cater for a plumbing and electrical career . Also on offer are the Solar water heating and Heat Pump installation courses and the Electrical Basic and advanced courses as well as the National Electrical course and the National Plumbing course ( Red Seal ).
PCD College is an approved National Artisan Moderating Body ( NAMB ) approved Trade Test Centre .
Accommodation is available , which includes three meals per day and laundry once a week with a years ’ rental signed contract .

The opening day was attended by suppliers , learners , staff , and guests . Apart from being new , a feature of the College is the openness of the training points , more than enough natural light , large gardens , and a great atmosphere for learning .
Nick Joubert , Training Manager for IOPSA opened the proceedings and Christo delivered an inspiring talk .
