14 EVENTS AND EXHIBITIONS Learning with Curtis Copper The Copper Development Association Africa (CDAA) launched the first of its future programmes geared towards schoolchildren on 25 October 2018, with the aim of getting the public better acquainted with the versatility of copper. Photos by CDAA Primary school pupils from the Jozua Naude and Roodepoort primary schools were hosted at the CDAA offices in Wadeville, Germiston, where they were shown the corporate video on the CDAA and given booklets on the history of copper. Soon after, the children had an opportunity to get tactile with the copper in the showroom. The guest star of the moment, copper mascot Curtis Copper, made an appearance with food and drink parcels. There is little doubt that the 40 youngsters returned to their schools empowered with just a little more knowledge on copper and the valuable role it plays in our lives.
