BUSINESS AND TRAINING
19
Currently training at BluLever and employed by Rapid Plumbing , Ntsinde joined BluLever as an apprentice after having been unemployed for three years . Previously she had worked in a bank and a supermarket but could not find the passion she was looking for .
It is a fact that without passion , what you do every day is merely a job and becomes drudgery so seeing an advert for apprentices and a call for women caught her attention . After her base camp and in-house learning she entered her employer-based learning journey with Rapid Plumbing .
Her employer was impressed with her composure and curiosity and she was getting into the swing of things when fate intervened – she discovered she was pregnant . This was a first for BluLever and together with industry bodies provided Ntsinde with a working group and writing policies , so determined was she to obtain that Red Seal . Credit to the industry for being part of the support for her .
In her own words she described the reaction of employer and BluLever , “ They asked me what I wanted to do , and said they would support me . By asking that question it made me take ownership of my journey and put me back in control . I realised that this was my passion , I ’ m here to stay because of my children , and needed to stay committed .” PA
