54 WALL OF SHAME PLUMBING For your Hall of Shame submissions, please WhatsApp Eamonn Ryan at 082 560-8718. Please include your name! Wall Of ShamE Some say innovation, some say clever thinking, and sometimes we just don’t know any better, but it is still non-compliant and carries risk for the installer, the client, and possibly anyone else in the direct area. Most of us will be baffled by the images on this page, but why do we still see installations like these? This geyser has no valves, vacuum breakers or any copper pipes around it installed. Also a huge mishap of an installation! Red: direction of sewer pipe flow; Green: blocked 50mm to soakaway tank connected to 3 bathrooms 2 kitchens; Yellow: T-junction instead of inspection Y-junction; Black: new sewer line to new septic tank. What’s up with that? www.plumbingafrica.co.za @plumbingonline @plumbingonline @PlumbingAfricaOnline February 2020 Volume 25 I Number 12
