PLUMBING ’ S TRAVELLING EXHIBITION
PTE
SA ’ s Travelling Exhibition Company
Described as highly successful by exhibitors and visitors , the KZN / Durban PTExhibition had glorious weather after nights of rain before .
Somewhat muddy , but easily resolved thanks to our PTE team who seldomly get the recognition they deserve for build up and breakdown , and assisting exhibitors during build up , visitors started arriving from 10:30 and by 15:30 exhausted exhibitors started breaking down and 370 visitors had left grateful for the first ever Plumbing Travelling Exhibition in Durban . Add to the list the exhibitors will receive 90 pre-registered , who for usual plumbing reasons , could not visit the exhibition but who will be kept informed of new developments having agreed to allow their names to be supplied only to exhibitors .
The talks given by Rajesh Raghubar from Water Inspection division , eThekwini , Mahen Sewpersad , Training IOPSA KZN and Steve Brown , Operations IOPSA KZN provided the valuable input enjoyed by visitors as did the visitors enjoy the exhibitors ’ demonstration and exhibits .
Whilst exhibitors remarked that this was the best exhibition PTE had held , we do need to say that each region or area has a certain number of plumbers by the size of the area and what was noted was the quality of visitors at every exhibition , not the numbers .
So , to the Durban plumbing industry , well done . To the PTE team , well done and IOPSA , well done . The one point that comes out at each exhibition is the teamwork of both the units making the WHOLE , and the teamwork at the event . The parts are greater than the whole hence the need to work together , intelligently and for the benefit of plumbing and the plumbers , engineers , and architects .
Where to next ? Sadly , due to time for the venue in terms of mid-term exams and build up for the Free State Provincial Trades competition we have to cancel Bloemfontein .
The good news , having learnt from the larger city areas , we have decided to adopt another successful MTE strategy of two exhibitions in one week . It was clear that an exhibition near the East Rand and Jo ’ Burg South would just not work due to travelling time for plumbers from the North and West of Jo ’ Burg . Time is money , we understand , but education is value to make more money . So , the East Rand Exhibition will be held on the 10 th October and Jo ’ Burg North on the 12 th October . Venues to be decided shortly .
Full details to follow regarding costs etc . but diarise these dates . PA
