Last month the world observed International Women ' s Day 2023 – a day when women across the world receive recognition for their achievements . As Plumbing Africa has consistently maintained , we do not wait for a specific date , rather we recognise the women in the plumbing industry every month .
Plumbing Africa thanks Blulever Education for providing coverage of their ongoing Women on Tools campaign , which aims to change the narrative about women in the trades by sharing the success stories of their female apprentices .
“ My proudest moment on-site was when I was given a drawing to follow for our pipework and was able to do it two days after joining the team . I was not yet confident about reading drawings for plumbing work since I had only done that during class practicals . But I soon became the go-to person for reading drawings for the team . After having struggled with the physical demands of the job , but still being persistent , I was happy to have found my strength and contribution to the team ,” – Rinae Sigida , BluLever apprentice .
“ Join BluLever ' s apprentices as they change the narrative about women on-site . Share your own stories of overcoming myths about women in the trades and use the hashtag # WomenOnTools .” – Blulever Education PA
