Out damned virus – out !

Lady MacBeth might well have uttered these words regarding the virus that has continued to cause devastation throughout the world .
“ The vaccines that have , and continue to arrive on our shores , offer a glowing light at the end of a very long tunnel .”
As if that isn ’ t bad enough , no sooner are the vaccines about to arrive , and we have conspiracy theories about them changing one ’ s DNA and what have you . One is not forced to have the vaccine , but bear in mind it is not only about you but those around you !
I was chatting to a plumber recently , and asking about how they are doing regarding visiting customers and the safety protocols . He confirmed that the team still sanitises and wears masks but some of their customers do not seem to care . Whether these are isolated cases or perhaps the norm as a result of Covid fatigue ( which is real , I might add ), no one knows . How about plumbers handing out leaflets when they visit clients reinforcing the need to protect themselves still and to adopt all the protocols ? It ’ s another way of showing your concern for customers as well as spreading the word . We all need to be vigilant especially as we are at level 1 .
It ’ s never good to generalise , but it ’ s always a good idea to carry a goodwill message from ‘ your local friendly , caring plumber ’.
Perhaps then Lady MacBeth can worry about the blood on her hands and not the virus !

[ Initially I was going to write a piece on the turbulence in the plumbing industry which , as you are reading this , may very well have been resolved . The reason for not doing so is that the issue has reached the legal stage and it is advisable for no one to pass any comment , particulary in writing , lest one finds themselves in a legal battle defending a silly comment . The past has been pitted with a bunch of skirmishes , but now it is in the ‘ bull ring ’ where we trust good sense will prevail . PA
