The bathroom – note the bell to call for help.
Copper, then (less so now), was the favoured material
for plumbing and hot water.
The design of the cast-iron basin and stand at Lindfield
was registered in 1897.
The insides of the cistern – the red lever is modern
(to make sure it actually flushes after almost 100 years).
This toilet seat dates back 120 years.

lady of the house’s use.
