Keeping it together
It often happens that we find ourselves in all-consuming
situations, taking all our focus and keeping us occupied mentally
and physically.
We then get bombarded with information and advice on how to do better
business and deal with various situations. In my own experience, and in
the bigger picture, we should probably have mechanisms in business that
can identify and control these various situations, and this is where a team
environment is so important.
As business owners, you need to be aware of these types of scenarios. When
your team is aligned, everyone is pulling in the same direction and supportive
of each other and of you as the team leader. You achieve your objectives quickly
and everyone is productive.

A team is also usually made up of people with different skill sets,
emotions, and ideas, and that is why it is so important to listen to
everyone in the team — that one person may just give you the
answers you were looking for to solve a challenge you were facing,
whether work related or personal. We need to keep in mind that
our work lives take up approximately half of our ‘awake hours’.
Have an open door and use the tools you have been given — you
have two ears and one mouth for a reason.
