After the death of Octopus Electronics founder, Gavin Nunn, on 15 November 2016 at the age of 60 and after battling for four months with a terminal brain tumour, many people asked, what is to become of Octopus Electronics?
Gavin founded Octopus Electronics in 1996 and single-handedly grew the company into the successful, reputable industry leader it is today.

Gavin’ s dying wish was for Octopus Electronic to continue its legacy after his death, so to ensure its continuation, Gavin approached Trevor Quigley to purchase the business. Welcoming the challenge, Quigley acquired Octopus Electronics and relocated the business to Johannesburg, Gauteng.
Octopus Electronics is one of the leading distributors, repair facilities, and rental agents for CCTV push rod camera and crawler camera systems for pipeline inspection solutions in South Africa. Dealing with all aspects of pipeline equipment, it also offers a full range of Vetter plugs and stoppers, as well as CCTV systems from leading manufacturers Troglotech, MinCam and iPEK, which includes ex-rated systems, custom designed CCTV inspection vehicles, IMS cutting robots( in-line robotic pipe cutters), and sonar / laser profiling.

A state-of-the-art sales, training, and repair facility opened for operation in November 2016. Quigley spared no expense developing the facility to ensure professional, expedient services across the board. The extensive warehouse affords Octopus Electronics the capacity to stock a wide variety of units for sale and a substantial quantity of spare parts for fast, efficient servicing, sales, and repairs. In addition, Octopus Electronics sent two service technicians for first-hand technical training at iPEK in Germany and WinCan in Murten, Switzerland, ensuring that the customer receives only the best on site or remote services available.
