your sense of wonder and awe by letting a natural“ treasure” spark your curiosity. Options: You can introduce a theme or word to guide the exploration. For example, a theme could include: magic, healing, freedom, friendship, protector, strength, or family. Remind participants that treasure can be found everywhere when we look for it.
4. Solo treasure hunt. Each participant sets off on a solo journey to find their“ treasure.” Encourage them to take their time and be mindful of their surroundings. Once they find something that speaks to them, they should return to the gathering place.
5. Group sharing and observation. Once everyone has returned, place all the treasures in the center of the gathering place. Take a moment to observe the collection as a group. Afterward, each participant shares their experience with their treasure, answering these questions:
• Why is this treasure important?
• If this treasure could speak, what would it say?
• What role does it play in its ecosystem?
• How can we protect it?
6. Return the treasures back to nature. This reinforces the concept of impermanence while also allowing the items to continue their natural role in the environment. If desired, take time to reflect on the activity and any deeper meanings gained. Discuss the importance of respecting and protecting nature, as well as the wonder that can be found in the smallest elements of the natural world. Remember that treasures are all around us!
