The General Store Lives on with the Poole Family

Tucked off River Road, bordering Seneca Creek, and just up the Potomac River from Riley’ s Lock on the C & O Canal, Poole’ s Store is a beloved Ag Reserve landmark that invites patrons to step back in time. Formally known as the Seneca Store, it was built in 1901 by Frederick Allnutt, and served also as the town post office and gas station.
