– You Drill Our Earth But What Is It Worth? – by Dani Sprecher, Grade 6
The spiders spin their silk The deer dash through the woods The fish flutter freely through their waters But what is it worth?
You break deep into ground not yours to claim You take their home Leaving them to roam, lost without a home But what is it worth?
It’ s not just our Earth The bugs, fish, mammals, birds, and reptiles live here too The Earth’ s heart beats strong and true All the way through, life bursts anew That’ s what it’ s worth.

Colors glow brightly Fireworks in a flower Explosion of life

The sun beams down across the land, The ocean, forest, meadow, sand.
The wind whistles through the trees, Past the deer, the crows and bees.
The brook ripples through the rocky ravine Who knows what creatures lurk there not wanting to be seen.
I love to be in the forest with its beauty But eventually I must return to my day’ s duty.
